What to do in Brisbane this month (June)

Winter has arrived and the air has gotten chilly. But that doesn’t mean you should stay at home to escape the cold! Here’s some winter activities you and your family can do together in June.
  1. Disney on Ice presents Frozen

I’m sure you’ve had “let it go” stuck in your head many times if you have young kids (or not, no judgement) so you know that this is a dead set favourite for the little ones.
Treat your family this winter by taking them to see their favourite Disney film on ice, and endure that catchy song in live-action just one more time.
Tickets: Varies, check the website listed above
Dates: From 2nd June – 7th July 2017
  1. Gladiators: Heroes of the Colosseum

Take the family to the museum and experience the history of Rome and the gladiators in the Colosseum.
The exhibition features artefacts from over 7 Italian museums and institutions, illustrating the Roman times and the glory of fighters in the colosseum.

Not only are there displays and artefacts, but also games for your children to enjoy, making it an interesting and fun-filled day for everyone.

After 4 years of absence, the Fig Tree Pocket Fete is back and bigger and better than ever.
Amongst various food stalls and rides is a silent auction, raffles and games, and various acts performing throughout the day.

Come and support your local school while taking the family for a fun day out.

  1. Lifeline Book Fest

If you’re the type of person that loves perusing through bargain bins at book shops or popping in to the occasional op shop to find gold, then this event is your paradise.

The entire room is just littered with second hand books, tapes, records, comics, you name it!

Go and find something special, whether that’s a traditional book of fairy tales or a vintage cook book with long lost recipes.

Tickets: Free entry; cost of books vary
Dates: Saturday 24th June until Sunday 2nd July
