Right beside the Fox Hotel in South Brisbane is the ever changing and eclectic Fish Lane, with an assortment of restaurants and bars, plus an Art Gallery.
Enjoy some cocktails and tapas at Fish Lane Bistro, or even a genuine Italian pizza at Julius Pizzeria. There’s even a specialty bar, Saccharomyces Beer Cafe, that serves an array of fine wines and boutique beers, plus gourmet bar food.
If you’re a food enthusiast and love trying something new, you can try the Wondering Cooks restaurant, which hosts a variety of events every month featuring chefs and food trucks from all over Brisbane.
Finish off your date night with a stroll through Fish Lane Creative Studios to soak up the local art and culture.
2. Burnett Lane, Brisbane CBD

Being Brisbane’s oldest lane, it’s filled with little historical facts written on the walls and radiant artwork all over. This lane started as an exercise yard for prisoners in the penal colony days, and has since been transformed into the trendy cafe district it is today.
If you’re a city worker and enjoy a quick and delicious lunch or would like a hearty dinner, head on over to The Survey Co. where you’ll find a historical atmosphere coupled with gorgeous modern Australian food.
Overlooking the laneway is Felix Espresso, one of Brisbane’s best hidden cafes. Here you can find organically sourced coffee, smoothies, and food and delicious wine at night. Best of all, the menu items are decently priced and quite generous.
Just down the lane, you can find an industrial bar serving original cocktails, boutique beers and gourmet snack foods. And if you’re looking for something even trendier, a little further down is the hipster-esque cafe that boasts a deep love for coffee.
3. Winn Lane, Fortitude Valley

Winn Lane is so jam packed with specialty stores, restaurants, and arts studios that it’s hard to write about each stop in detail.
Here you’ll find the latest in music, food, and fashion all in this one lane.
Spend the day here and start with a delicious breakfast at No. 5 Cafe. Enjoy a delicious cup of coffee and some extravagant poached eggs while you decide on the store you want to visit first.
For music lovers, there’s Tym Guitars. Find a huge variety of vintage guitars and accessories that are unlike any guitars you’ve seen elsewhere. Or head over to The Zoo after hours for a gig and a drink.
If you love fashion, you’ll find some cool looks at the Sunday Social, and you absolutely have to stop by the House of Ezis and check out their amazing formal wear.
Winn Lane is so diverse; you can even get your hair cut by a barber here! Come and experience this vibrant lane.
